Dogs@work

Dogs@work is an advocacy group that supports dogs in the human workplace. In 2018, Dogs@work will bestow ten DOG awards to ten American companies for being at the forefront of dog integration at the workplace.

The purpose of The DOG Award is to highlight the excellence of the recipients and to raise awareness that dogs are a benefit to companies and , therefore, culture in general. A happier company helps create a happier world.  When dogs enter the workplace, they bring:

  • A more relaxed atmosphere among employees

  • A general sense of well being

  • A feeling of balance

  • A reduction of stress

  • A rise in productivity

  • A  open and convivial spirit between employees

“Change is the only constant in life,” said Founding Father, Ben Franklin.  “Ones ability to adapt to those changes will determine your success in life.” Dogs@work joins the advocacy of the #metoo movement, the LGBT movement, the Women’s Equality Movement in creating  a better and more civilized world for all people.

The Dogs@work movement is already growing. Over 44% of American households have a dog. Research shows that 1 in 10 companies support dogs in the workplace.  37% of dog owners would sacrifice vacation time or a pay raise to be able to bring their dog to work. 44% of dog lovers would consider a career move for a pet-friendly workplace. In the OnePoll study of 2018, 97% of HR decision makers believe that employee happiness is a key component in productivity.

The Latin phrase on The DOG Award, A Bonus Ad Meliora, means To Make Good Better. That’s what dogs do: They make a good company even better. The goal of Dogs@work is to move the dial on the American companies that support dogs in the workplace. By the end of 2019, Dogs@work would like to see the support for dogs in the workplace move from 10% to 15% across all American companies.
