Steven James Taylor and David Paul Kirkpatrick walking Arthur, a Corgi,  on a cold December day at Cranes Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts

It is unusual for authors to co-write a work of fiction. But David Paul Kirkpatrick and Steven James Taylor have been friends for a long time. They both grew up with dogs and live in New England.  David is a filmmaker and writer. Steve is a storyteller and an artist. They have been daring each other to work on a creative project for years. They were inspired by the many dogs in their lives and  the dog is the answer to those dares.

To write the dog, they rented a house at Crane’s Beach in Ipswich, Massachusetts. They worked in the “Mighty Room” at the Emily Dickinson Museum in Amherst, Massachusetts. They also relied heavily on Apple, Microsoft, Box, and Dropbox.
